Provocation Unit 1

“Understanding different ways of learning enables people to respond to their own learning needs as well as those of others”

Students were given materials on each class corner that represents the multiple intelligence learning (angklung, ball and a hoop, microphone and handphone, mirror and a diary, books and scrabble board game, numbers and measuring tape, rocks, rubber animal and dry leaves, crayon and paper). They then choose one thing that they like or represent their learning style. Students make a group based on the material they chose, they discussed with the group member of what those material represent.

Teachers: What does learning means to you, using the materials you chose on your table?

Microphone and phone: Learning is connected to people anywhere, anytime

Frog, rocks, dry leaf: Being different, searching, finding things in nature

Crayon and paper: Fun, because we can draw anything you want

Angklung: Learning is being smart in playing music

Ball and hullahoop: Fun, because on PE you can play basketball and anything you can do in PE

Numbers, measuring tools, calculator: Math make it easier, new way to do multiplication, division and subtraction

Books and scrabble: Reading, know a lot of things

Conclusion (Aradi): Lots of people thinks, and learning is different
